Increasing Trend of LCD Panel Cost

Since Oct. 2020 , the LCD panel industry has begun to increase price on a large scale , as a result , China TV , mobile , display relative products have entered into a comprehensive price increasing . With an average increase of 200 to 400 Yuan( CNY currency). Industry insiders said that increase in LCD panel prices will increase some costs for consumers in short term .

Talking about the reasons for price increase of LCD panel , BOE display and sensor business group CEO said that the first is increase in demand , China domestic E- commerce promotion grew both online and offline . The world’s major TV markets gradually recovered in the third season , raising manufacturers’ expectations of the TV market, and also prepare stocks at the end of 2020 .

Whether it is the LCD panel in TV field , or LCD , OLED screens of smarts phones , domestic screen manufacturers are competing with the world giants . Data show that as of Sept. 2020 , there are more than 8600 LCD panel-related enterprises in China. Judging from the development in the past decade , from 2010 to 2015 , the average annual number of new registrations of related enterprises reached 440 , and entered a period of rapid development after 2015. With the increasing demand for LCD panels , the number of new registrations of LCD-related enterprises has exceeded 1500 in 2019, and increase of 21% over the same period last year .

The increase has narrowed down and is expected to return normal by middle of 2021 .

LCD is a typical capital-intensive and technology-intensive industry , LCD as the middle and lower reaches of its industrial chain , in the terminal products , domestic substitutability is strong . At present , most of the LCD of domestic electronic products have been domestically made .
